If any one of you have missed or could not book the new XUV 500 earlier, now you all have a chance as the manufacturer have again started bookings from Jan 25th 2012. The manufacturer has also announced that this SUV will now be available with auto transmission.

A six-speed manual transmission is available as a standard feature, whereas customers can avail Mahindra XUV 500 automatic transmission by paying.

You will not find any utility vehicle, which resembles the new XUV. It will come featured with wide front body featuring the company logo. It is also featured with xenon flood and fog lights for extra clear vision in rain.

The interior is well furnished and looks as if it is a Premium version. Some of the upgraded features are power windows, dual zone climate control, and Bluetooth connectivity.

The new XUV gives full justice for what you pay. It offers 12 kmpl in city limits and 14 kmpl in superhighways.

This XUV is now available at an ex-showroom price is excess of Rs 13 lakhs, and the on-road price in cities like Bangalore and Mumbai is close to Rs 18lakhs.

At this price, there are many other good options in the segment, and we’d recommend you to take a look at Chevy Captiva & Ford Endeavor.

In Bangalore showrooms, you can order automatic versions, but it’s priced around Rs 18 lakhs on-road, and it’s not worth it! You’d as well buy a Chevy Captiva, or Ford Endeavor at that price!
